How words are detected

For the code cases, the converter splits text on spaces, dashes, underscores and changes from lowercase to uppercase, and it keeps acronyms together, so getHTTPResponse becomes get_http_response in snake case. Numbers stay attached to the word before them.

Limits of Title Case

Title Case capitalises every word, including small words such as "of" and "the" that many style guides keep lowercase. Sentence case capitalises the first letter after a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark. Names, acronyms and brand names with unusual capitals need a quick manual check afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (myVariable). PascalCase starts with an uppercase letter (MyVariable).

Does Title Case skip small words?

No. It capitalises every word. Edit small words like "of" by hand if your style guide needs it.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

How do I change all caps to normal case?

Paste the text and choose Sentence case or Title case. Both lowercase everything first and then capitalise.

Does it work with Hindi or other scripts?

Scripts without upper and lower case, such as Devanagari, are left as they are. Letters with accents in the Latin script are handled correctly.
